Faith Stegbauer’s entry to FFA was a given. Her family farms. Her brother was a member (you’ll read about Tyler later this week). Why wouldn’t she join? Her youthful enthusiasm for agriculture and the blue & gold inspires me. Sometimes we adults need to remember that feeling that the world is there for the taking; we just have to be brave enough to take it.
What FFA activities do you participate in and which is your favorite?
I have been to FFA Leadership Camp, state convention, and national convention, and participate in community service activities, the public speaking, livestock judging and soil judging career development events. I also serve as the chapter secretary.
My favorite activity is livestock judging. This is because I am a 4-H member and love to work with animals. I also love when we go to pick out my feeder calves for the fair and livestock judging is very similar to that for me.
Why did you join?
My family had gotten to know my FFA advisor during my brother’s time as a member and he made me feel very comfortable about the organization and what it stands for.
Why do you stay?
I am currently serving as a chapter officer and love the experiences and life-skills FFA teachers. I also love agriculture and all the opportunities I get from being a member of FFA.
