Tonight, as the crew chowed down dinner, my brother-in-law mentioned that a rep from a local ag business wanted to bring dinner Saturday night. Many ag businesses will deliver lunch or dinner to harvest crews. It is a great customer appreciation gesture, both to the farmer customers and the harvest chefs. A night free from dinner duty?! Meal 7: Hobo Dinner, Dinner Rolls and Cherry Cream Cheese Dessert
Hobo Dinner (from Megan Dwyer)
Thank you to Megan for this simple, delicious all in one dinner. On a piece of foil, place a hamburger patty. Surround with sliced potatoes, sliced carrots and onions. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and seal foil wrapper. Place on a cookie sheet and cook for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Dinner Rolls (from Betty Crocker)
Cherry Cream Cheese Dessert (from Taste of Home)
This recipe provides instructions for individual dessert cups; however I used the same amounts and put everything into a 8 x 8 baking pan. This does not set up like a cheesecake! Serve with a spoon.
You can replace the cherry pie filling with another of your choice, and for a slight tasty twist, replace the lemon juice with lime juice. Good stuff!

I remember doing this too, as a kid, over a campfire. I think my mom called them po’ boys . . . maybe. Regardless, they got great reviews then and good reviews last night in the field. Thanks for reading and sharing!!
