The thermometer read 72 degrees today. My tulips literally jumped out of the ground; even the ones I had to bury on Christmas Eve because they had emerged in the warm winter weather. The wind started to blow. It will blow here in the country until June. I’ve made peace with that now. Actually, I haven’t. The wind drives me crazy, but I do reconcile its force with the fact that warm spring days are on their way. Something has to usher them in.
Ironic, that on the day Mother Nature decided to shed her winter grey for a refreshing pale green, I finally took a breath and pushed “publish” on a refreshed blog.
Well, I didn’t really push anything. The new look is the product of the amazing creativity of Becca at Jumping Jax Designs who guided the old Rural Route 2 to the NEW Illinois Farm Girl. She offered new headers for my twitter and facebook pages. I’ve got a real logo:
Take a look around. Everything is still here: Field Meals, Flat Aggie, Bubba-Bug Popcorn . . .
Just reset the web address from illinoisfarmgirl.wordpress.com to theillinoisfarmgirl.com. I’m excited to continue to share the life & times of my family and me on our little stretch of Rural Route 2.
