LiveWire Hops started as a conversation over beers between my cousin and brother. My cousin is the marketer/p.r. person and into the home brew craze. My brother is the farmer, and likes a good beer at the end of the day. What might seem to be a whim is actually a central piece of the farm story.
Farmers are risk takers. They build networks. They seek new opportunities and aren’t scared of the work load. They do this so they can farm, not just because it is their business, but because farming is their passion. And they do all this with family. Although, my cousin, brother and their wives are baring the burden of success of this new venture, our families are working right by their side.
The farm boy and I put in a few evenings of work last week with my parents and brother stringing and training hops bines (not vines). The farm princess graciously helped me put together this video to show you how beer begins. #haveabeer #thankafarmer

Katie,
Hi! Hey we’re working on the 2019 Lee County Fun Guide. As we went through new and unique things to add, we came across a piece on Live Wire Hops. Since you know us and know that we are legit, I thought I’d reach out to you and request an introduction.
I know this isn’t a “tourist” site, but I noticed the pix from Yard Day and I wondered if it was an event that was open to the public and if they plan to make it an annual event.
Anyway, just imposing on you for information hoping to fill in the gaps and maybe find another new and interesting nugget for next year’s guide.
Thanks.
